“Stray”, an adventure game that lets players take on the role of a cat, will soon be available on Mac. Released in 2022, Stray was previously limited to Windows and PlayStation consoles.

In Stray, a stray cat finds himself trapped in a walled city full of robots and mutant bacteria. The cat must make his way to the roof with the help of B-12, his drone companion.

Stray offers third-person gameplay and requires players to solve puzzles, pass obstacles, and complete quests while avoiding monsters such as Zurks (evil bacteria) and Sentinels (security bots). Most of the game is platform-based, and it involves climbing various obstacles and interacting with the environment to unlock new paths. There are also cat behaviors, of course, like sneaking up, sleeping, meowing, and even craving NPCs for pets.

On Macs, Stray will take advantage of MetalFX Upscaling technology to accelerate graphics performance with higher quality visuals, and will be available to play on Apple silicon Macs.

There’s no release date for the Stray yet, but it’s coming to the Mac “this year.”

Stray for Mac will be followed by the launch of No Man’s Sky for Mac, which is available on Apple silicon starting today.
